PSV decided to buy out the defender Sergiño Destand y Barcelona behind 10 million euros. Now the American lateral plays for the Eindhoven club on loan.
PSV management is completely satisfied with Dest’s performances this season. The 23-year-old player has firmly established himself in the starting line-up of Peter Bosz’s team.
Dest became a Barcelona player in 2020, joining from Ajax. The versatile flanker played last season on loan in Milan (14 matches). In addition, the 22-year-old Dest has 28 matches, 2 goals and 4 assists in the US national team.
On August 21, 2023, Serginho went on another loan to a club from Eindhoven. There, head coach Bos found him a place on the left flank of defense. Dest is a consistent starter: seven matches in the Dutch championship, six in the Champions League (including qualification).
PSV leads the Eredivisie after 12 rounds, seven points ahead of its closest pursuer (Feyenoord). In Group B of the Champions League, Bos’ team shares 2-3 places with Lens, ahead of their opponent in personal meetings.
