Former Russian national team striker Oleya Kurochkina who plays for Zvezda 2005, admitted in the “Third Half” program of the FIRST MATCH that she was offended not to receive the title of international master of sports.
Kurochkina turned 40 in September and is a five-time Russian champion. In the 2008/09 season, as part of Zvezda 2005, she reached the final of the UEFA Cup (now Champions League), where she lost to the German club Duisburg 2001.
— There is resentment for not keeping what was promised [званий] international-class sports masters. I think that for any athlete, this rank is… Probably like in the army: you start as corporal and then move up to the rank of major general. And I also believe that in our sport this is the first category, CMS, and the highest – Honored Master of Sports, ”Kurochkina said in an interview with commentator Dmitry Derunets in the program “Third Time » on MATCH PRIME.
