Cruzeiro and Coritiba are at risk of suffering a severe blow after confusion between fans, which interrupted the match between the teams for the 34th round of the Brasileirão; check out
Last Saturday, the 11th, the Coritiba received Cruzeiro, in Villa Capanemain a match valid for the 34th round of the Brasileirão. After scoring a goal in stoppage time, Coxa secured the victory, but the game had to be stopped due to an invasion of fans on the pitch. At first, the Cruzeiro fans were first, but the home club’s fans followed, invaded and there was widespread confusion.
Therefore, an injunction was established so that none of the teams would receive games with open doors until they were judged for what happened. However, in addition, the Superior Court of Sports Justice also formally denounced the clubs, which could result in the loss of up to 20 field orders for Cruzeiro and Coritiba.
On the night of last Tuesday, the 14th, the complaint was formalized by the STJD Attorney General’s Office, but, so far, the first instance trial of the clubs has no date set. Cruzeiro and Coritiba were denounced in Article 213, items I and II of the Brazilian Code of Sports Justicewhich provides for the loss of up to ten field orders each, in addition to a fine that can reach R$100,000.
The confusion among fans already implies problems for both clubs, but as it influenced the course of the game, which had to be interrupted for 45 minutes, the situation could be even more serious.
In case of loss of command, the CBF General Competition Regulations in 2023 provide for an important rule, in Article 73. According to the section in question, teams must play in a stadium that is, at least, 100 kilometers from distance from its host cities, that is, Curitiba and Belo Horizonte.
