Forward of the Zvezda-2005 team Oleya Kurochkina in the show “Third Half” on MATCH PRIME named Alexandra Grigorian one of the head coaches of his career.
Kurochkina turned 40 in September and is a five-time Russian champion. In the 2008/09 season, the 2005 Stars, with Kurochkina in the team and head coach Grigoryan, reached the final of the UEFA Cup (now Champions League), where they lost to the German club Duisburg 2001.
— Each coach has played a certain role in my career in their own way. But the first coach is still the most important. I would also like to mention Alexander Vitalievich Grigoryan. Because the coaches of the youth team called me a log when I was there, and when I worked with Grigoryan, they admitted that I had become Pinocchio. In other words, I became more technical. We stayed with him after training, he gave us tasks. I think I grew up a lot at that time,” Kurochkina said in an interview with commentator Dmitry Derunets on the “Third Half” show on MATCH PRIME.
