UEFA has lifted the special rule that allowed teams to bring up to 26 players during the coronavirus pandemic
In the teams’ applications for European Championship 2024 will include a maximum 23 football players. The tournament will return to the traditional roster format that was in place until 2020.
At Euro 2020, which took place in 2021, and at the 2022 World Cup, teams entered up to 26 players into the competition. The rule was introduced due to the coronavirus pandemic and the large number of infections among athletes. In the Euro 2024 regulations, UEFA returned the previous norm.
The Ukrainian national team will play the decisive European Championship qualifying match with Italy on November 20. The match will take place in Leverkusen (Germany) at the Bay Arena stadium, starting at 20:45 local time or at 21:45 Kyiv time. At the end of October, ticket sales for the final match of the blue-yellows in the group round of qualifying began.
The 2024 European Championship will be held in Germany from June 14 to July 14, 2024. In Group C, in which Ukraine plays, the England team has already won one ticket to the tournament.
