Athletistic/Football. Zenit midfielder Andrei Mostovoy has spoken about possibly leaving for a French club. However, the 26-year-old Russian decided to stay at the St. Petersburg club and extended his contract with them.

“The option with France was even before the extension of the contract with Zenit. At the moment I decided to do it, that is, to stay. Which team? I will consult the agent and can -maybe I’ll tell you then. The club was a little higher than the level of Le Havre, where Daler Kuzyaev plays.

Was I ready to go to Le Havre conditionally for a salary of 300 to 400 thousand euros? There was probably a problem at this point too, which is why I didn’t change in the end. Salaries in France are several times lower than in Russia, that surprised me,” Mostovoy said, as quoted by RB Sport.

Andrey Mostovoy has been a Zenit player since February 2019. His contract with the current Russian champion is valid until June 30, 2027. The Transfermarkt portal estimates the midfielder’s market value at €3.5 million. Note that Mostovoi extended his contract with Zenit at the beginning of October 2023.
