The decisive qualifying match will take place on November 20
Midfielder Ukrainian national team Georgy Sudakov commented on the upcoming match with the national team Italy in qualification European Championship 2024.
“Italy are very strong, they are the current European champions, I respect them a lot. But we will fight for victory and make every effort. Victory over Italy and qualifying for the Euro is our dream. After the world, obviously.”
“The mistake in the last match with Italy was, of course, not a pleasant experience, but I’m moving forward. I don’t think about the past. My position on the field requires a lot of responsibility, but I like having that kind of weight, even taking risks.”
Sergei Rebrov’s team will hold a sparring match against Lechia, which is currently represented by Ukrainians Bogdan Sarnavsky, Ivan Zhelizko and Maxim Khlan, as well as ex-Krivbass player Rifet Kapic. The meeting will take place on November 16, starting at 17:00.
The Ukrainian team takes second place in Group C, three points ahead of Italy. Squadra Azzurra played one match less and will play against North Macedonia on November 17.
Sergei Rebrov’s team will play against Italy on November 20 in Leverkusen (Germany) at the Bay Arena stadium, starting at 20:45 local time or at 21:45 Kyiv time. At the end of October, ticket sales for the final match of the blue-yellows in the group round of qualifying began.
