Novak needs Sinner to defeat Rune to reach the semi-finals
The first racket of the world Novak Djokovic beat Hubert Hurkacz from Poland in the third round Final tournament ATP Finals 2023.
The fate of the first set was decided in a tiebreak – 7:1 in favor of Djokovic. The second game was left to the Polish tennis player, who made one break – 6:4. In the decisive third set, Novak left his opponent no chance, converting two break points – 6:1.
Djokovic secured his second victory in Group A. The Serb will reach the semi-finals if Holger Rune loses to Jannik Sinner in the other match of the quartet today. Italian made it to the playoffs earlybecoming the first representative of his country at this stage of the ATP Finals.
Let us remind you that Hurkacz replaced Stefanos Tsitsipas in Group A, who withdrew from the tournament due to an injury in the second round.
The final tournament is taking place in Turin, Italy and will end on November 19.
