Pikhalyonok and Nazarina scored for the blue-yellow team
Ukrainian national team in Gdansk played a control match with the local Lechia. The sparring took place at the Polsat Plus Arena Gdansk stadium behind closed doors.
In the middle of the first half, Sergei Rebrov’s team took the lead through the efforts of Alexander Pikhalenok. In the 58th minute, Egor Nazarina increased the blue-yellows’ lead. The teams did not score any more goals.
Let us note that Lechia’s starting line-up included three Ukrainians – goalkeeper Bogdan Sarnavsky, midfielder Ivan Zhelizko, winger Maxim Khlan, as well as ex-Krivbass midfielder Rifet Kapic.
The next match Rebrov’s team will play against Italy on November 20 in Leverkusen at the Bay Arena stadium, kick-off at 21:45 Kyiv time. At the end of October, ticket sales began for the final match of the blue-yellows in the group round of Euro 2024 qualifying.
The Ukrainian team takes second place in Group C with 13 points. Italy is in third place with ten points, having played one match less. Squadra Azzurra will host North Macedonia on November 17.
Lechia is third in the Polish First League with 26 points after 15 rounds. The team will play their next match on November 24 against Arka.
