Hungary national football team on par with Bulgarian team in the qualifying match for the 2024 European Championship and reached the final stage of the tournament.
The match in Sofia ended with a score of 2:2. The hosts scored goals from Spas Delev and Kiril Despodov. Martin Adam scored for the Hungarians, and Bulgarian national team midfielder Alex Petkov scored an own goal in the 90th + 6th minute. In the 37th minute, Bulgarian team defender Valentin Antov was sent off the field for two yellow cards; in the 58th minute, the Hungarians found themselves down to ten men after the expulsion of defender Milos Kerkesh.
The Hungarian team leads the Group G standings with 15 points; the team secured at least second place and a ticket to EURO 2024. The Bulgarians (3 points) occupy the last place, the Serbs are second (13 points). On November 19, the Hungarian team will play against Montenegro, Bulgaria against the Serbs.
Previously, teams from Belgium, France, Portugal, Spain, Scotland, Turkey, Austria and England qualified for the European Championship. The German national team will play at the European Championships without qualifying as the tournament host.
