The Ukrainian national team beat Lechia in a control match in Gdansk
Midfielder Ukrainian national team Alexander Zinchenko noted the positive aspects in the sparring with Lechia (2:0), which took place in Gdansk.
“It was very cold, but this cold was for both teams. Good sparring. I think the coaching staff got information from the game. We will prepare for Italy.”
“I think the priority for this match with Lechia is communication. “All the players are physically ready, since all championships have been going on for a long time.”
The Ukrainian national team won the sparring thanks to goals from Alexander Pikhalenok and Egor Nazarina. Let us note that Lechia’s starting line-up included three Ukrainians – goalkeeper Bogdan Sarnavsky, midfielder Ivan Zhelizko, winger Maxim Khlan, as well as ex-Krivbass midfielder Rifet Kapic.
The next match Rebrov’s team will play against Italy on November 20 in Leverkusen at the Bay Arena stadium, kick-off at 21:45 Kyiv time. At the end of October, ticket sales began for the final match of the blue-yellows in the group round of Euro 2024 qualifying.
The Ukrainian team takes second place in Group C with 13 points. Italy is in third place with ten points, having played one match less. Squadra Azzurra will host North Macedonia on November 17.
