Spalletti: For Italy now only the result matters

The rivals of the Ukrainian national team will play with North Macedonia on November 17

Head coach Italian national team Luciano Spalletti spoke about the situation in the team before the match with North Macedonia in qualification European Championship 2024.

“We lost Bastogne, but we are very careful in training. This is dangerous given the limited time we have in the national team. However, Moise Kean must be available.”

“From now until match night, all that matters is the result. We have to go out and win this game and remember what it means to wear this jersey.”

It was previously reported that defender Alessandro Bastoni suffered an injury to his right calf muscle and will not help the national team in the November matches. Instead, Gianluca Mancini has been called up to the national team.

Midfielder Manuel Locatelli also left the Squadra Azzurra training camp. Napoli goalkeeper Alex Meret, defenders Davide Calabria (Milan) and Rafael Toloi (Atalanta) will miss the November European Championship qualifying matches due to injuries.

The Italian national team takes third place in Group C of qualification for the 2024 European Championship. Luciano Spalletti’s team is three points behind the Ukrainian team, having played one match less.

Squadra Azzurra will play against North Macedonia on November 17, the match starts at 21:45. The final, key match with the Ukrainian national team will take place on November 20.
