Uruguay ends Argentina’s unbeaten run in La Bombonera

With a goal from a defender and top-scoring striker, Uruguay manages to beat Argentina in one of the most hostile stadiums in the world and takes second place in the Brazilian Qualifiers

On the night of this Thursday, the 16th, the Argentina received the Uruguay in a match valid for the fifth round of South American Qualifiers to the 2026 World Cup. After an intense 90 minutes of the ball rolling around the stadium La Bombonerain Buenos Airesthe visitors ended up breaking the home team’s unbeaten record, winning 2-0.
