The match will be presided over by a referee, in which Ukraine has already won, and Shakhtar suffered a heavy defeat.
UEFA has decided the referees who will oversee the match of the tenth round of Euro 2024 qualification, where Ukraine will host Italy.
According to the official website of the organization, the main referee of the meeting is the Spaniard Jesus Gil Manzano.
In the lines, compatriots Diego Barbero and Angel Nevado will help him. The duties of the fourth referee will be performed by the Spaniard Guillermo Guarda. The referee observer was Czech Michal Benes and the UEFA delegate was Scotsman Harry O’Hagan.
Let’s remember that Manzano crossed paths with the Ukrainian national team only once, when the “blue-yellows” won 2:1 against Finland in qualifying for the 2022 World Cup.
The Spanish held matches with the participation of Ukrainian teams four times. In 2014, Chernomorets, under his refereeing, drew 0:0 with Split in Europa League qualification; in 2018, Dynamo lost to Lazio 0:2 in the 1/8 finals of the Europa League; in 2023, Shakhtar suffered a heavy 1:7 defeat from Feyenoord in the 1/8 finals of the Europa League; in 2023, Dnepr-1 played a 1:1 draw against Slavia in a Europa League qualifier.
We remind you that the match of the tenth round of Euro 2024 qualification between Ukraine and Italy will take place on Monday, November 20, in Leverkusen, Germany at the Bay Arena stadium and will start at 21.45 Kyiv time.
The previous day, the Ukrainian team won a sparring match against Polish Lechia.
