Ukrainian Viskov won a gold medal at the European Judo Championship U-23

In the final, Nazar was stronger than the Spaniard Barroso Lopez

Ukrainian Nazar Viskov won gold at European Youth Judo Championship 2023which started in Potsdam, Germany.

On the way to the final, the young judoka was stronger than the Italian Pietro Andreini, the Serbian Rastko Andzhelovich and the Azerbaijani Magammad Musayev. In the decisive battle, Nazar defeated Luis Barroso Lopez from Spain.

The continental championship in the under 23 category started in Potsdam today, November 17. Representatives of Russia and Belarus were not allowed to attend.

Let us remind you that in October it became known that the Ukrainian national team will not take part in the 2023 Junior World Judo Championship, which will be held in Portugal. The reason is the admission to the competition of seven Russian athletes under a neutral flag. Before this, in May, the Ukrainian national team boycotted the 2023 World Judo Championship.

At the same time, the adult Ukrainian judo team took part in the 2023 European Championships in early November, which included admitted athletes from the aggressor country and the collaborator country. The injured Daria Beloded was not on the national team. Ukrainians Dilshot Khalmatov and Bogdan Yadov won silver and bronze medals at that tournament.
