The promoter called the British boxer “Random Thought Generator”
Alexander Krasyukpromoter of the world champion according to WBO/WBA/IBF/IBO versions Alexandra Usikasaid that he will finally be confident in holding a fight for the undisputed title with the holder of the WBC belt Tyson Fury only when the starting gong sounds.
“Am I sure that the fight will take place? No. Absolutely not. My confidence will increase when I hear the starting bell. At that moment I will begin to believe that the fight will take place. I’ve been in boxing for too long. I have expectations and hopes, but in reality I have to remain very skeptical.”
“I said before that we friendly call Tyson a generator of random thoughts. Taking us to court was one of his random thoughts. We are very flexible, we want this fight to happen, we have been pursuing it for a very long time. For more than two years we pursued either a fighter or a battle. I don’t know, because Usik’s goal is to become the absolute world champion. And we need Tyson because he is the WBC champion. This is the only title that Usyk still lacks.”
The Usik-Fury fight for the title of absolute heavyweight champion will officially take place on February 17 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Initially, the event was planned to be organized on December 23. However, it later became clear that the “Gypsy King” would not have time to prepare for this time after the fight with Francis Ngannou at the end of October.
Fury defeated Ngannou via split decision. It was reported that the Briton received two cuts in a fight with the former UFC champion.
Usik fought his last fight on August 27 in Wroclaw, Poland. The Ukrainian knocked out Daniel Dubois in the 9th round and defended his championship titles.
