The captain of the Cuban national football team, Luis Paradera, could not name any stereotypes about Russia, but admitted to hearing about the high level of Russian hockey.
The friendly match between the Russian and Cuban national teams will take place on November 20 in Volgograd, starting at 7:30 p.m. (Moscow time). The Cuban national team occupies 169th place in the FIFA rankings.
—What were you thinking when you found out you were going to fly to Russia?
— The coach told us. They took it calmly. We were able to visit a new country.
— The main stereotype about Russia you’ve heard about?
– I do not know much. But I heard about strong hockey in your country. And we are happy to have come,” reports a correspondent, according to Paradera.
FIFA and UEFA suspended Russian clubs and national teams from international tournaments in February 2022 due to the situation in Ukraine.
