Spain complete qualification for Euro 2024 with home victory over Georgia

The Georgians managed to draw in the first half, but after the break the favorite took over

Spain completed the qualifying round for the European Championship 2024beating at home without any problems Georgia – 3:1.

The home team (the match took place in Valladolid) very quickly opened the scoring – Robin Le Normand scored his debut goal for the national team, responding to a cross from Ferran Torres. However, the underdog promptly responded – Khvicha Kvaratskhelia capitalized on his chance in a counterattack.

Willy Sagnol’s team managed not to lose in the first half. But after the break, Furia Roja played even more actively in attack and quickly achieved success – Shakhtar player Irakli Azarov missed Torres after a cross from Luis Gay. Ferran dedicated the goal he scored to his teammate Gavi, who was injured and was replaced in the first half.

Another flank cross led to the third goal – Luka Lochoshvili cut the ball into his own net.

The Georgians performed with dignity – much more successfully than on September 8 in Tbilisi, when Sagnol’s team lost to the Spaniards with a score of 1:7.

Having won, Luis de la Fuente’s team finished in first place, not allowing the Scottish team to get ahead of them.
