Former Lokomotiv goalkeeper Polyakov talks about the retro match with CSKA: “Today everyone is a hero! My work should not be ruined!

Former Lokomotiv goalkeeper Alexey Polyakov told that all the railway legends who entered the field during the retro match with CSKA were heroes and his task was not to spoil the match.

The match took place at the “red-green” stadium and ended with a score of 1:0. The only goal was scored in the 56th minute by Dmitry Loskov.

Sunday’s match in Moscow was a recreation of the “golden” match of the 2002 Russian Championship. That season, based on the results of 30 rounds, CSKA and Lokomotiv scored 66 points in the Russian Championship, sharing first place in the ranking. According to the regulations, a “golden” match was played because other performance indicators of the teams were not taken into account. In the meeting which took place on November 21, 2002 in Moscow, the railway workers won thanks to Loskov’s goal – 1:0.
