Rukh’s mentor is pleased with the victory over the Ukrainian champion in the control match
Head coach Ruha Vitaly Ponomarev commented on the victory over Miner in the control match (3:1).
“It was a very good sparring against the flagship of our football, the team that recently beat Barcelona in the Champions League. I’m glad we were able to play such a friendly match.”
“Today we managed to implement everything we are working on in training. The players adhered to all the gaming principles professed by Rukh. Of course, there were some mistakes, but the guys listen to advice, so they will correct them. The team is moving in the right direction and is constantly improving.”
“Rukh always wants to play aggressive football and put pressure on the opponent. We are not afraid of having open areas behind us because we do it deliberately so that the team puts pressure on the opponents.”
“Young players need to develop and progress. The defensive line, without three starting players, played well today – Kholod, Kitela and Lyakh played well and I am pleased with how they acted on the field, because the guys did not allow Shakhtar to create an attack at our goal. Stolyarchuk scored a goal, and the rest of the players also came on as substitutes.”
Let us remind you that today Rukh won a strong-willed victory over the champion of Ukraine in Vinniki. Ponomarev’s team responded to Kevin Kelsey’s goal with accurate shots from Bohdan Slyubik, Vitaly Kholod and Andrey Stolyarchuk.
The teams met in the championship match on September 23. Then Rukh, who played more than one and a half halves with a numerical advantage, managed to avoid defeat at the end of the meeting – the already mentioned Slyubyk (1:1) saved the draw for the Lviv team.
In the Ukrainian Premier League, Rukh is in fifth place with 24 points after 14 rounds. The Shakhtar team (4th place) has the same number of points, but the Miners played two fewer games.
On November 26, in the next round of the UPL, Rukh will play away against Dynamo.
