Sergei Rebrov’s team will have another chance at the playoffs of the European tournament selection.
As part of the tenth round of qualifying for the 2024 European Championship, the Ukrainian national team meets the Italian national team.
From the first minutes the teams started to show open football. The first moment came in the seventh minute, when Chiesa shot high from the goal line after a corner kick.
Sergei Rebrov’s team tried to find the opponent’s weak point with a quick attack. Mudrik, Dovbik and Tsygankov fled from their rivals, but no active dividend was obtained.

The Italians were more aggressive in attack. Raspadori attacked with several long-range shots, after one Trubin entered the game.
Frattesi then had his moment when he received a through ball and went one-on-one, but failed to get past Anatoly.

Until the end of the first half, the score was not opened, although one and the other moved quickly.
The second half continued in competitive style. The Italians were more daring – Chiesa had a chance, but he shot wide from long range. Just a few minutes later, Ukraine managed to move the game towards the opponent’s goal.
Mikhail Mudrik had a chance, failing to beat Gianluigi Donnarumma from the goalkeeper’s corner. Then the rapid attack scattered Tsygankov and Sudakov, but all of them ended without a blow.

In the last part, the tension subsided a little – the Italians began to play for time, and our men did not hold close to the visitors’ goal.
In stoppage time, Mikhail Mudrik fell in the penalty area after contacting Cristante, but the referee did not see the foul.
The Ukrainian national team never scored against the Italians, who, along with England, qualified directly from the group to the main part of the 2024 European Championship.
