According to the “100 Scorers” project, the Russian national team set a new record for the number of scorers in a match (including the USSR period).
The previous record was set in 1978, when the USSR national team beat Finland 10:2 in a friendly match thanks to the efforts of seven scorers.
This record was repeated in 1995 in a match against San Marino, where the Russian national team won 7:0, scoring goals from seven different players.
