Czech footballer Kuhta talks about his suspension over a drunken party: ‘I did a terrible stupid thing’

Sparta Prague striker Jan Kuchta apologized for attending a drunken party, which is why he was kicked out of the Czech national team.

Earlier, Czech media reported that Kuchta, London West Ham defender Vladimir Tsoufal and Greek Aris player Jakub Brabec went to a nightclub on Saturday evening and were suspended from participating in the Championship qualifying match of Europe with the Moldovan team. The match took place on Monday in Olomouc and ended with a score of 3:0 in favor of the hosts, with all three players missing the match. The Czech national team has reached the final phase of Euro 2024.

“I did a terrible thing.” I apologize to you, to my teammates, as well as to the technical staff led by Yaroslav Shilgavy. I apologize to everyone who is worried about us in the national team, to Sparta. I apologize to my family and everyone dear to me.

I did something that I cannot be proud of. This is a lesson for me. I accept the criticism that is now leveled at me.

I returned to Sparta after training on Monday morning and am preparing for the last matches of the fall. It is clear to me that words cannot fix everything… I will have to regain my trust,” the 26-year-old footballer wrote on a social network.

Kukhta played for Lokomotiv Moscow from January to July 2022. He played 11 matches for the railway workers, scored three goals and provided two assists.
