Corinthians coach, Mano Menezes, projected the team at the end of Brasileirão 2023; there are four rounds left for Timão in the national tournament
Mano Menezes broke the silence on the Corinthians and the probable final classification of the team in the Brasileirão 2023. After elimination in the semi-finals of South American Cup and the flirtation with relegation, Timão aims for a good position in the table and guaranteeing a place for the continental tournament next year.
Amid restructuring work at the club, the coach explained why he accepted the invitation to return to Itaquera. “I accepted the Corinthians at this time of year because of my story here. I feel proud and respected for having been chosen in yet another difficult time the club is going through.”began Mano during the “Arena SBT” program.
“It is recognition of work and competence. We built important things in that time and my intention was to return next year. I said this to other people and even to other clubs. But we started a recovery and I signed a longer contract”. Furthermore, the commander commented on the recent relationship with the black and white team in light of the moments of turbulence in Timão.
“Corinthians fans will not be satisfied just with leaving the last positions or an intermediate position in the table, but taking into account what we have been through here, we have already started to deliver something more reliable. I think we have already produced something as a team capable of giving us confidence that we will be in the middle of the table in the last round”he stated.
