The defender could leave Manchester United next winter, but the problem could be that the player’s salary is too high
Bavaria eyeing the defender Raphael Varan from Manchester United. The German giants will continue to monitor the French player in the coming weeks.
According to experts, the likelihood of Rafael leaving Manchester United this coming winter is different from zero. At the same time, the selling club is not considering rental options, but wants to receive about 20-30 million euros for the player.
A stumbling block for a potential buyer could be Varane’s too high salary – over £17 million a year.
Varan is 30 years old. He has been playing for Manchester United since the summer of 2021. This season, the Frenchman has played 12 matches for the Red Devils and scored one goal. Lately, he has dropped out of the main squad of Erik ten Hag’s team in the Premier League.
Manchester United is sixth in the English Championship. The Mancunians also lost three out of four matches in the Champions League, and were also knocked out of the English League Cup, losing to Newcastle at home.
The Red Devils’ next match will be away to Everton on November 26.
