Brazhko scored the only goal from the penalty spot
Ukraine U-21 national team won over Azerbaijan in qualification European Youth Championship 2025 with a minimum score of 1:0.
Unai Melgosa’s team dominated throughout the match. In the first half, the nominal hosts (the match took place in Murcia, Spain) managed to translate their advantage into a goal scored from the penalty spot by Vladimir Brazhko for a foul on Nazar Voloshin.
And after the break, the blue-and-yellows continued to press the goal of the Caucasian team, but failed to convert any of the chances created. At the same time, somewhere after the equator of the second half, things became restless several times at Ruslan Neshcheret’s goal. The Dynamo goalkeeper helped out when it was necessary.
Not as convincing as four days ago against Luxembourg (4:0), but the Ukrainian youth team took three points. And, importantly, Melgosa’s team scored the maximum in five starting qualifying matches, thanks to which they will meet 2024 in a confident first place in Group F.
Melgosa’s team will play their next match again against their peers from Azerbaijan, but this time on a full-time away basis – this meeting will take place on March 26.
