Presidential candidate explains accusation of misogyny

Corinthians presidential candidate, Augusto Melo, apologized and explained the accusation of misogyny to the club member, on the eve of the election

After yet another accusation, the candidate for president of the Corinthians, Augusto Melo, spoke out for the first time. Last week, a member of the club accused him of misogyny after an audio recording of her was leaked. In an interview with “ESPN”, the presidential candidate apologized for his words, but assured that he was being attacked by the other side of the elections.

This was a conversation at a bar table, in which we were six people, to sell the political part. I want to ask forgiveness from the women, from Cintia, because she came in an attack on my family. It doesn’t justify any of this. Forgive me. I made a mistake“, stated Augusto. Before that, the candidate had already explained his relationship with the woman in question.

“This woman is a well-known person, who used to frequent my beach house, she is a friend of our family, of my daughter. Over the years she has changed sides. Many are friends and don’t vote for me. I began to suffer a major attack I didn’t expect people to come to my house and then attacks on my family began,” he said.

Closing the matter, Augusto also stated that the victim’s sister called him to say that Cintia (victim) was being used for the elections: “Her sister [Cintia] She called me yesterday crying and said she was being used. Unfortunately, I am learning through pain. I come out of this a better man, who corrects mistakes. It’s one more thing we learn.
