He fought in the Donetsk direction
The heart of a Ukrainian athlete, multiple world champion in kickboxing, Honored Master of Sports of Ukraine stopped beating Sergei Lysyuk.
Lysyuk joined the ranks of the Ukrainian Armed Forces after the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine and fought in the east of the country. While performing a combat mission in the Donetsk direction, Lysyuk was blown up by a mine.
Sergei was hospitalized in intensive care in Dnieper. The athlete had to have his leg amputated, but the injuries turned out to be incompatible with life.
Let us recall that in November, Alexei Loginov, a prize-winner of the Ukrainian hockey championship as part of the White Leopard, and a master of sports in boxing, Ivan Soltysik, died. Last month, in the Zaporozhye region, boxing master and coach Alexander Cherny died during a combat mission.
In the early hours of February 24, 2022, Russia launched rocket and air strikes on most Ukrainian cities and then launched a full-scale military invasion. The war against Russia has continued for the 637th day.
