Former head coach of St. Petersburg “Zenith” and now candidate for the presidency of Porto André Villas-Boas reported on social media that unknown assailants attacked his home in Portugal.
— Today, around 12:48 a.m., my residence became the target of acts of violence and vandalism. Flares were launched, which alerted me, one of my colleagues and several neighbors,” wrote the 46-year-old specialist.
Villas-Boas called the police, who went to the scene to investigate the incident. Later, his employee was attacked near the home of the former Zenit coach.
— At 4:30 a.m., my employee was brutally attacked by strangers and some of his property was stolen, including his car. Having received medical care on site, he is still under observation in the hospital department and receiving the necessary care.
“Unfortunately, acts of intimidation, vandalism and violence continue, and I call on the authorities to take decisive action to resolve these incidents,” Villas-Boas added.
This is not the first time that Villas-Boas’ home has been attacked. At the end of October, a similar incident occurred when the words “ungrateful” and “traitor” appeared on the wall and gate of the house.
Villas-Boas worked with Zenit from 2014 to 2016 and won the Russian Championship, Cup and Super Cup with the team.
The Portuguese specialist’s last workplace was the French Marseille, which he managed from 2019 to 2021. He also coached Porto, the English Chelsea and Tottenham and the Chinese Shanghai SIPG.
