Mourinho: Ancelotti is the ideal coach for Real Madrid

The Portuguese calls himself a fan of the Madrid club and considers his Italian colleague a “supermanager”

Head coach Roma Jose Mourinho answered the question whether he plans to return to real Madrid to replace the current Blancos coach Carlo Anchelotti.

“Returning to Real Madrid instead of Ancelotti? Florentino [Перес] – super smart. He already has a super manager, so why think about another?

“I am a Madridista and I hope Ancelotti stays there. He is the ideal coach for Real Madrid,” the Special One emphasized.

Mourinho has been in charge of Roma since the summer of 2021. He led the capital club to victory in the historic Conference League, and also reached the Europa League final, but has not yet managed to return Wolves to the Champions League.

This season, Roma, after 12 rounds, is in seventh place in Serie A. In Group D of the Europa League, the Giallorossi won three out of four matches, but are inferior to Slavia in additional indicators.

The 60-year-old Portuguese’s contract runs until the summer of 2024. According to Italian media, he will leave Roma at the end of the season.

Real Madrid, led by 64-year-old Ancelotti, is second in La Liga (two points behind Girona), and also won all four matches in Group C of the Champions League, securing early access to the playoffs.

In total, Carlo won 10 trophies with the Madrid club, including two victories in the Champions League and one in the Spanish Championship.

Let us remember that back in the summer, Ancelotti agreed on his appointment to the Brazilian national team. The Italian specialist will lead the Pentacampeons in June 2024.

According to the latest information, Real are preparing in advance to part with their older coach and have already held preliminary negotiations with Shakhtar’s ex-mentor Roberto De Zerbi. An alternative could be Xabi Alonso, now coaching Bayer Leverkusen.
