Athletistic/Football. Former CSKA and Chelsea midfielder Yuri Zhirkov believed that at present it does not make much sense to talk about the mass departure of Russian footballers to the European Championships, because it there is no big demand for them there.

Zhirkov noted that each footballer chooses the place where he feels comfortable to play, and added that many of them are in principle not needed in Europe. He gave the example of a situation in which CSKA won European cups, but there were no real offers from major European clubs. Zhirkov emphasized that the decision to move depends on specific proposals.

Regarding young players, Zhirkov said that if there were 100% offers, players might consider moving. However, in general, it emphasizes the individual nature of these decisions and their dependence on comfort and specific playing conditions.
