Spurs drop to fifth place in the Premier League
Tottenham lost Aston Villa in the home match of the 13th round English Premier League – 1:2.
Giovani Lo Celso gave Spurs the lead midway through the first half. The visitors quickly equalized but Ollie Watkins’ goal was disallowed for offside.
Before the break, Aston Villa still fought back through the efforts of Pau Torres. In the 61st minute, the visitors took the lead after Watkins’ accurate strike. Note that towards the end of the match the referees did not count Son Heung-min’s goal.
Tottenham suffered a third defeat in a row and dropped to fifth place in the Premier League. Aston Villa moved up to fourth position, two points ahead of Spurs.
In the next round on December 3, Tottenham will play away against Manchester City, and Aston Villa will meet with Bournemouth.
