One of the issues is the election of the UAF president
Today, November 27, the meeting began UAF Executive Committee, which must approve the date, time and place of the extraordinary XXVI Congress of the UAF and the agenda of the congress proposed by members of the Ukrainian Football Association.
Based on requests from 32 UAF members and in accordance with the charter, the administration of the Ukrainian Football Association invited members of the executive committee to hold an extraordinary UAF Congress on January 25, 2024 at the House of Football (Kiev) with the following agenda:
1. On the election of working bodies of the extraordinary XXVI Congress of the UAF.
2. On declaring the next reporting and election XXV Congress of the UAF invalid.
3. On the election of the UAF President.
4. On approval of the number of members of the UAF Executive Committee, first vice-presidents of the UAF, vice-presidents of the UAF.
5. On the election of the first vice-presidents of the UAF.
6. On the election of UAF vice-presidents.
7. On the election of members of the UAF Executive Committee.
8. On the election of the Audit Body of the UAF.
9. On granting powers for state registration of changes to information about the UAF in the Unified State Register of Legal Entities, Individual Entrepreneurs and Public Formations.
10. On the election of bodies for implementing football justice of the UAF.
Previously, the majority of the collective members of the UAF – regional football associations – made demands for the resignation of Anatoly Demyanenko from the post of first vice-president (UAF), the appointment of an interim secretary general of the organization, as well as an independent audit.
In May, the Pechersky Court of the city of Kyiv extended the suspension of the head of the UAF Andrei Pavelko from his post until July 9, 2023. In mid-June, the Shevchenkovsky District Court of Lvov imprisoned Pavelko in a pre-trial detention center for a period of 60 days, then the functionary’s stay in custody was extended.
The bail of 9.88 million hryvnia, which was previously paid for the head of the UAF, was transferred in favor of the state. The latest decision of the Pechersk court extended Pavelko’s stay in the pre-trial detention center until January 18, 2024.
In November, the prosecutor’s office completed a pre-trial investigation in a criminal case against Pavelko and the organization’s general secretary, Yuri Zapisotsky, on suspicion of embezzlement of public funds.
The UAF considers the entire process to be custom work from former association leaders. In 2018, the “Schemes” program conducted an investigation, as a result of which journalists suspected the UAF and its president Andrei Pavelko of corruption through a plant for the production of artificial fields.
