The Spaniard is considered as a reserve for Thibaut Courtois
Head coach Real Madrid Carlo Ancelotti wants to keep Chelsea goalkeeper Kepu Arrizabalaga on an ongoing basis.
The coach advised the club management to sell the Ukrainian Andrey Lunin and in his place sign Kepa, who is currently in the Blancos camp on loan.
Arrizabalaga has played 13 matches this season and conceded 10 goals. The Spaniard suffered a torn abductor muscle in the warm-up before the Champions League match against Braga. Andrey played five matches for the Madrid team. The goalkeeper missed two goals and kept a clean sheet in three matches.
Kepa was perfectly replaced by Lunin: with Braga (3:0 and a saved penalty), Valencia (5:1) and Cadiz (3:0). The Ukrainian will probably start for Real and for the upcoming match with Napoli (November 29) in the Champions League.
Let us remember that Kepa’s loan was forced for Real. The Madrid club has lost its main goalkeeper, Thibaut Courtois, for a long time. It was reported that a possible full-fledged transfer of Kepa to Real Madrid would take place with the participation of Lunin.
At the same time, Ancelotti himself agreed on his appointment to the Brazilian national team at the end of the current season. The Italian specialist will lead the Pentacampeons in June 2024.
Real are leading the Spanish league, one point ahead of Girona. Ancelotti’s team will play Granada on December 2.
