UEFA has decided on the team of referees for the match in the fifth round of the group stage of the Champions League.
Pole Bartosz Frankowski will be the main referee of the meeting between Shakhtar and Antwerp in the fifth round of the group stage of the Champions League. UEFA’s official website reports this.
His assistants were compatriots Marcin Boniek and Jakub Winkler, and the fourth referee was Patrik Gryckiewicz. Mark Fritz from Germany will be in charge of the VAR system, and his assistant will be Jerome Brizard from France.
Previously, Frankowski crossed paths with Ukrainian teams four times. Under his refereeing in 2018, Poltava Vorskla suffered a 0:3 defeat from London Arsenal in the group stage of the Europa League, and the following year Mariupol was defeated 0:4 by AZ in the qualifiers of same contest.
Also in 2019, Frankovski led the match of the Ukrainian youth team against Romania in the qualification for Euro 2021, where the “blue-yellows” lost 0:3. The only success of the Ukrainians for his refereeing was in 2014, when our youth team beat the Turks 2:0 in a friendly match.
We remind you that Shakhtar and Antwerp will play on Tuesday, November 28. The match will take place in Hamburg at the Volksparkstadion. The game starts at 19:45 Kyiv time.
In the first match between these two teams, the Orange-and-Blacks won, having lost the meeting with a score of 0:2, but won a 3:2 victory.
Earlier, Shakhtar’s application for the game against Antwerp became known.
