Russian Premier League Marketing and Communications Director Anton Fetisov said on MATCH PREMIER that the WORLD RPL 16th round match between “Sochi” And “The Wings of the Soviets” could be postponed until spring 2024 due to severe storms.
The meeting in Sochi is scheduled for December 2. A storm accompanied by hurricane-force winds with gusts of up to 40 m/s hit the Russian Black Sea coast on the evening of November 26.
“It is clear that we are monitoring the situation, but the decision will be taken jointly with the RFU. It should never be forgotten that the decision to postpone the match or delay the start is made by the head referee. Our eyes are on that, but it seems to me that it is now a little early to draw conclusions. Tomorrow or the day after tomorrow, the situation will be clearer.
How can this be implemented if you can’t play on Sirius territory? Unfortunately, it will no longer be possible to change circles, which would be the simplest solution, so there are reserve dates to which this match can be moved in the event of force majeure. Most likely, these reserve dates are spring,” Fetisov said in the show “8-16” on MATCH PRIME.
