Coritiba fires coach and defines replacement to lead Series B

Coxa sends Thiago Kosloski during the final stretch of the Brazilian Championship, but already has a name defined for planning for 2024 in Series B

On the morning of this Monday, 27th, the Coritiba sent the coach away Thiago Kosloski and has already announced that Guto Ferreira will take on the position left open, as part of the planning for the Serie B in 2024. The commander should arrive in the capital of Paraná this week, to lead the training and the team in the final stretch of the Brazilian championshipin which the club is already relegated.

In recent weeks, the Coxa board had been working on planning for next year, promising changes as soon as the relegation was confirmed. A native of Paraná and a white man at heart, Thiago took over the club at the worst moment of the season, when Coritiba had not won in any of the initial 12 rounds. In 23 games in charge, there were eight wins, one draw and 14 defeats. Kosloski had a contract until December 2024, giving up the Olympic cycle with Ramon Menezes to try to save the team from relegation.

“Today I say goodbye to Coritiba Foot Ball Club. I arrived at Alto da Glória at the beginning of 2022 and in 2023 I accepted the invitation to take command of the professional team in Series A of the Brazilian Championship. As I have always said, being at Coxa was a personal and professional achievement, which is why I leave here very satisfied with everything I experienced here. Unfortunately, the work didn’t end the way I would have liked, but I leave with the conviction that I always did my best for this shirt, which deserves all my respect and consideration. I also thank the professionals and colleagues I met in this house during this time. I know that Coritiba will soon come back even stronger, as they deserve to be among the great teams in Brazilian football. I move on to new challenges, with my heart at peace and with the certainty that I have dedicated myself 100% to the possibilities I have found since arriving here. Thank you, Coxa!”said Thiago, on his social networks.
