Former Paris Saint-Germain player criticizes Lionel Messi and the Argentine team’s stance during match against Brazil
For Jérôme Rothenformer player of Paris Saint-Germain and the French team, Lionel Messi and the rest of the Argentina squad changed their attitude after winning the Qatar World Cup 2022. The star was the target of numerous criticisms in France due to the argument with the Brazilian striker of the Real Madrid, Rodrygo.
“They (Argentines) are always the first to attack others. Starting with Messi. He had the image of being friendly, but now he has changed, because his true personality is appearing. Now you can’t touch it. Whenever this happens, he makes the same comment, as we saw with Rodrygo, when he said he was world champion. Argentines could be more classy”said Rothen on “RMC Sports” radio.
Rodrygo called Leo Messi and his teammates “cowards” last night.
The Argentinian’s response: “We are the world champions, why are we cowards? Shut your mouth…” 🇧🇷🇦🇷

It is not the first time that the former player has criticized the Argentine. Previously, Rothen, who played for PSG between 2004 and 2010, shot at the choice of number 10 to win the 2023 Ballon d’Or.
In the classic between Brazil and Argentina, Messi argued with Rodrygo and, according to “TyC Sports”, the Brazilian had provoked the star with an insult in Spanish, calling his opponents cowards after they delayed the start of the match. The number 10 retorted and stated that he was world champion.
