Shakhtar appointed Dutchman Schepens as assistant coach

The 30-year-old specialist previously worked in Fortuna (Sittard)

Miner appointed a Dutchman Jeroen Schepens new assistant head coach. The 30-year-old specialist has already joined Marino Pusic’s team.

Schepens began his coaching career in 2015 at the VVV Venlo Academy, where he led the youth teams. In the 2021/22 season, Jeroen was an assistant on the coaching staff of the Venlo main team. Since July 2022, the specialist has worked as an assistant coach at Fortuna (Sittard).

Earlier, the Miners invited Belgian Roel Tamber to the coaching staff. The 28-year-old specialist will be responsible for physical training on Pusic’s coaching staff.

At the end of October, Shakhtar officially announced the appointment of Marino Pusic as head coach. His coaching staff also included Andrei Pyatov and Mario Stanic.

Shakhtar ranks fourth in the UPL with 25 points. The Pitmen will play Antwerp in the Champions League on November 28. The meeting starts at 19:45.
