— In 2023, the best young player in the RPL will be selected for the 21st time. We are very pleased with the trend observed in recent years: more and more young footballers are playing regularly for Premier League teams. This is why the list of candidates is so long. For some candidates, this may be a step forward. But we hope this will give them extra motivation.

Since last year, the “First Five” award has been awarded in the Super League. Women’s football is developing very actively in our country, as evidenced by the number of young female footballers. It will be all the more interesting to follow the voting process to find out who will win the title of the best this year,” said DFL President Maria Zharkova.

Last year, the winner of the award was Lokomotiv footballer Sergei Pinyaev, who then played for Krylia Sovetov. Among the women, the prize was awarded to Tatyana Petrova (CSKA).
