The young English Manchester City striker continues to impress with his performances in the tournament.

Manchester City’s victory over Leipzig in the Champions League was doubly special for Erling Haaland.

It should be noted that the current holder of the trophy lost to the German club 0:2 after the first half of the day before. However, in the second half they not only came back, but also grabbed a 3:2 win.

The comeback was started by Haaland’s goal, scored in the 55th minute of the match.

As mentioned ESPN, for the Norwegian striker this goal was the 40th of his career in the Champions League, and he set a record. After all, to score 40 goals, the football player needs a record of a small number of matches – only 35.

Haaland also became the youngest player to reach the 40-goal mark in the Champions League – he did it at the age of 23 years and 130 days. The previous record holder for this indicator was Kylian Mbappe.

We remind you that Shakhtar also defeated Antwerp the previous day and ensured their continuation of performances in the European competition.
