Klimas: Usyk will defeat Fury due to footwork, intelligence and boxing IQ

The manager believes that this fight could be the most difficult in Alexander’s career, but believes in the success of his ward

Egis Klimasmanager of the WBO/WBA/IBF/IBO heavyweight champion Alexandra Usikashared his expectations for the upcoming fight of his ward for the undisputed title against the WBC champion Tyson Fury.

“We worked for a very long time to get this fight, and now we finally did it! This will definitely not be an easy fight. Perhaps this will be the most difficult fight in Alexander’s career. Usyk is confident, but at the same time he is well aware that a lot of work needs to be done. He’s a hard worker, a good athlete and a very good fighter.”

“It will be difficult to find sparring partners because Tyson Fury is very tall, with long arms, he has an extremely awkward style, he is heavy. So that will be the biggest challenge. But I have no doubt about Alexander’s victory. Its reasons will be his footwork, intelligence and boxing IQ. I wouldn’t say Fury has a lot of power. It is heavy and hangs on the fighters. This is how he wears them out. But it won’t be easy to beat Alexander,” Klimas concluded.

The Usik-Fury fight for the title of absolute heavyweight champion will officially take place on February 17 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Initially, the event was planned to be organized on December 23. However, it later became clear that the “Gypsy King” would not have time to prepare for this time after the fight with Francis Ngannou at the end of October.

Fury defeated Ngannou via split decision. It was reported that the Briton received two cuts in a fight with the former UFC champion.

Usik fought his last fight on August 27 in Wroclaw, Poland. The Ukrainian knocked out Daniel Dubois in the 9th round and defended his championship titles.
