Tomasz Kwiatkowski recommended the chief referee to award a penalty against the English in the 90+8th minute of the match
Polish referee Tomasz Kwiatkowskiworked video assistant referee at the match of the fifth round of the Champions League PSG – Newcastle, suspended from next match. The referee was supposed to work for VAR in today’s match between Real Sociedad and Salzburg.
Kwiatkowski recommended that the chief referee of the PSG-Newcastle match, Szymon Marciniak, award a penalty kick against the English in the last minutes of the match. Mbappe converted the penalty, and PSG avoided defeat (1:1).
Kwiatowski is a very experienced referee, having served as video assistant referee at last year’s World Cup final.
PSG is in second place in Group F with 7 points. Newcastle is in third position with 6 points. The leader in the quartet is Borussia Dortmund, which beat Milan (3:1) and advanced to the playoffs early.
In the final round of Group F, PSG will play away against Borussia Dortmund, and Newcastle will host Milan. The fights are scheduled for December 13.
