Ukrainian boxer wants to make his debut in the UPL and play against Dynamo
Forward Polesia Philip Budkovsky shared his opinion about the WBO/WBA/IBF/IBO world heavyweight champion Alexandra Usikwho signed an official contract with the Zhytomyr club last summer and intends to play in UPL.
“My and his anthropometry are similar. This is a car. The machine of Ukrainian boxing,” said Budkovsky.
“There haven’t been many joint training sessions yet. But he has everything ahead. I think after the next fight he will train with us. After all, he has a dream – to make his debut in the UPL, to definitely play against Dynamo.”
Usyk is a fan of the Zhytomyr club, and also played for Polesie as part of the Winter Cup friendly tournament. The boxer signed a one-year contract and received the 17th jersey number.
Usyk’s next fight will be against WBC heavyweight title holder Tyson Fury. The fight is officially scheduled for February 17 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Polesie takes third place in the Ukrainian Championship. On December 1, the Zhytomyr team will play against Veres.
