Sensation in the opening match of the second round of the UPL
Polesie lost glasses with Veres in the 16th round match Ukrainian Premier League – 1:1. Nominally, the home match for the Zhytomyr team took place in Rivne by agreement of the parties.
In the first half, Yuri Kalitvintsev’s team acted more sharply: Veres twice saved the goal frame. After the break, Polesie took the lead thanks to an accurate shot from Boris Krushinsky.
One of the UPL leaders failed to maintain the winning score. Veres came back in the 90+6th minute through the efforts of Mikhail Shestakov.
Polesie rose to second place in the UPL, losing two points to SK Dnepr-1. Veres remained in 14th position in the standings with 12 points.
In the next round on December 8, Polesie will host SK Dnepr-1, and Veres will play with Shakhtar.
