Jack Wilshere has officially announced that he will no longer play professional football.
Jack Wilshere has officially announced his retirement. The former Arsenal captain and former England international has said he will retire from professional football at the age of 30. The well -known midfielder has also hinted that he will continue his favorite game, but in a different role.
“Today I am announcing my retirement from professional football. It has been an incredible journey filled with many incredible moments and I feel I am privileged to experience everything I have done in my career. Playing for my country at the World Cup I fulfilled my dream.
Honestly, it’s hard to accept the fact that my career has been moving away recently with factors I can’t control, while I feel like I still have a lot to give.
Playing at the highest level, I’ve always had tremendous ambition in the game, and honestly, I never thought I would be in this position.
However, having had time to reflect and connect with those closest to me, I now knew it was the right time, and despite the difficult moments, I returned to my career with great pride in what I had achieved.
Playing at the highest level with some of the best players in the world, winning FA Cups, being the captain of my club and representing my country were more than my wildest dreams when I was young growing up in Hitchin. .
I was so lucky to have had such a career, but none of this would have been possible without the love and support of so many people.
I have enjoyed every moment of my career and it has been the journey of my entire life. Now is the perfect time to close this chapter, but I still have a lot to offer in the game and I’m excited about what the future holds for us, ”Wilshere wrote on Instagram.
