The Ukrainian took third place in the 1500 m freestyle
Ukrainian swimmer Mikhail Romanchuk won a bronze medal European Championship 2023 in short water.
Romanchuk took third place in the 1500 m freestyle. Mikhail showed a result of 14:22.18 s. The Ukrainian lost 13 seconds to Daniel Wiffen from Ireland and lost 0.4 seconds to the Frenchman David Aubry, who won silver.
For Ukraine, Mikhail’s medal was the first at the competition. Earlier, the Ukrainian team took seventh place in the 4×50 m medley relay, and Vladislav Bukhov finished eighth in the 50 m freestyle.
Romanchuk next plans to compete in the 800m freestyle. Qualification will take place on December 9, the final will take place on December 10.
The 2023 European Short Course Swimming Championships are taking place in the Romanian city of Otopeni. The competition will last until December 10.
