His candidacy has already been nominated by 18 collective members out of 27, plus one abstained

In the presidential elections Ukrainian Football Association (UAF) Andrey Shevchenko will be the only and uncontested candidate.

As journalist Igor Burbas reported, his candidacy was already nominated by 18 permanent collective members of the organization out of 27. The nineteenth, the Ukrainian Premier League, abstained.

Thus, none of Andrei’s hypothetical rivals will be able to collect the minimum number of votes required for registration – nine.

Let us remind you that on December 12, Andrei Shevchenko was officially nominated as a candidate for the post of president of the UAF. The ex-coach of the Ukrainian national team accepted the offer to run for a responsible post, taking time to prepare a program and select a team.

Let us remind you that the UAF Executive Committee officially approved the holding of the Extraordinary Congress of the UAF on January 25, 2024. The meeting will take place in the Kiev House of Football, starting at 12:00. At the same time, the congress agenda was approved, one of the items of which is “On the election of the UAF President.”

It was also reported that the issue of participation of FIFA and UEFA representatives in the event is being resolved.
