The league has made significant changes to the competition rules that will force players to do certain things more quickly.
It seems MLS management is finally tired of players stopping time in matches. To speed up the game, the league made rule changes that will take effect next season.
Now a player who stays on the pitch for at least 15 seconds with a suspected injury will be taken to the sideline by the medical team and will receive treatment for at least 2 minutes.
This rule shall not apply in cases where the injured player is shown a yellow or red card following a foul.
Another rule is about substitutions. If the player who must leave the field does not do so within 10 seconds, the player who must enter as a substitute will enter the field no earlier than 1 minute during the next pause, that is, the team will play on minority for a minute. The rule does not apply to goalkeepers or injured players.
Also, changes were made to the rules for referees. Now, following the example of American football competitions, they will announce their decisions after looking at the VAR throughout the stadium.
We remind you that FIFA previously named three candidates for the title of Best Coach of the Year.
