Palmeiras has a twist in the soap opera with Borja and can still get along

Palmeiras had informed that the negotiation with River Plate for the sale of the player had been stopped, but a trip from Borja could change everything

The negotiation between palm trees and River Plate for the sale of Borja had been held in the last week after the club Alviverde informed that the deal would no longer happen. However, according to information from the website “GE”, a twist this weekend made the possibility of the hit gain strength again.

That’s because the striker traveled this Sunday, 10, to Buenos Aires to undergo medical examinations before the official signing of the contract. Although he has already sold the Colombian player to Junior Barranquillafrom Colombia, the palm trees he still has 50% of his economic rights and would manage to do well in that situation.

The Alviverde team would receive half of the sale value of US$ 7 million, something around R$ 36.8 million, the equivalent of just over R$ 18 million. However, an impasse was blocking the deal due to the policy of the Central Bank of Argentina, which, in an attempt to control the economic crisis, interrupted the sale of dollars at the official exchange rate.

Because of this problem, Junior Barranquilla did not feel safe to continue the deal and decided to back off the decision, also informing Palmeiras. Furthermore, even after River Plate’s elimination from the Libertadores, the talks continued, and the Argentine board remained hopeful of making the deal work.

Now, Borja would be waiting for the approval in the physical tests to, finally, be confirmed as the new player of the Argentine team. If everything really works out, Palmeiras would be calculating that it would be possible to recover more than 70% of the amount that was invested by the board to take the attacker out of the Atlético Nacionalfrom Colombia.

The Colombian player arrived in 2017 at Palmeiras being the biggest negotiation in the club’s history, but he failed to live up to the expectations that were placed on him during his passage. Because of this, the team sought over the years to mitigate the loss, even because “Crefisa” invested heavily and now will have to be reimbursed.
